Hi, I'm Elizabeth, one of the massage therapists here at Self Incorporated.

Through this unexpected journey I have discovered there are many great facilities available full of helpful information.  However, one area that seems to be lacking, is finding the perfect wig for when the inevitable happens and you suddenly become Kojac or for the younger generation Vin Diesel!! What a shock that is!!

Apart from having to deal with the emotional and physical aspects of the diagnosis and treatment, how you look and feel about yourself can have a huge impact not only with your recovery, but surviving day to day.

Through my own experience and chatting with fellow patrons at the "chemo cafe", it seems that people are ending up with wigs that either don't suit them or wigs that they have been talked into and are not entirely happy with.

When you go out to face the world, you want to feel as normal as possible and no one should be aware that you even have a wig on, including yourself.  I wear mine all day until I go to bed, it's comfortable, natural looking and that's the way it should be.  However, this isn't how it is for many people.  It has been mine and many others' experience that not all people who advise on wigs seem to have the understanding of how important it is to find a wig that you are totally comfortable with.
